26 th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME September 29 , 2013 THE READINGS FOR THIS SUNDAY ARE: Amos 6. 1a- 4-7 1. Timothy 6. 11-16. Luke 16 .19 - 31 SAVE THESE DATES: Stop Hunger Now Packaging Event; Saturday November 9th. The Goal is to package 25,000 Meals in two Hours. SPECIAL PARISH MEETING OCTOBER 13, 2013 : On Sunday October 13 th, immediately after Mass, we will have a special Parish Meeting to discuss, and vote on a change to our by-laws. This is a minor change that will move our Annual Parish Meeting from a September 1st – October 1st time frame to a February 1st –March 1st time frame . Our by-laws require that any change to the by-laws must be voted upon by the entire congregation. All registered parishioners are eligible to vote. COPY OF THE BY-LAWS AVAILABLE: Copies of the current by-law and the proposed by- law revision will be available in the hospitality suite. SHARED HOMILY DATE SUNDAY OCTOBER 13TH: You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts on the Scripture Readings of the day. This will be an ongoing event one Sunday in each month during Ordinary Time. The readings for Sunday the 13 th : 2 Kings 5. 14-17. 2 Timothy 2.-8-13. Luke 17. 11-19 . LOOKING FOR A PERSON OR PERSONS’ TO BAKE EUCHARIST BREAD: We are a very unique congregation in that we offer “Real Bread “ at our Eucharistic Liturgy. We are looking for volunteers who may be interested in assisting in this ministry. We have a recipe that can be followed to prepare the ingredients and baking the Bread. We have more than one person involved in this ministry, it would not be an every week responsibility. If you are interested and would like more details, please see Charlie Ernst . You can contact Charlie by e-mail at cfe1215@gmail BASIC NEEDS FOR THE MENS SHELTER: The Men’s Shelter have identified 10 “BASIC NEEDS”. These are Non-Perishable items that they have a continual need for. We are collecting two of the items over a full month. This will be the final week that we will be collecting GROUND COFFEE AND RICE . Thank you for your generosity in supporting this ministry FUND RAISING EVENT FOR STOP HUNGER NOW: Fish Head Cantina. Sunday October 6, 2013. 6-9 P.M. FREE Full Color Flyers for distribution will be available at Church. STOP HUNGER NOW; OTHER FUNDRAISERS: We have Pringle Cans that are available for you to collect loose change (no pennies please). Kids can use them, Place them at retail outlets that you frequent , or any other places or events that you may attend. Keep one at your home, you may be surprised at how fast you can fill a can with loose change. We also have 50-50 raffle tickets. The drawing will be the day of the Fish Head Cantina event. He will provide answers for everything you wanted to know about CACINA but were afraid to ask. The second session will be on Sunday October 13th.
