26 看啊，凡事都要我命令是不宜的；凡事都要被迫的人，就是懶惰而不聰明的僕人；所以他得不到酬賞。 27 我實在說，世人應當熱心做好事，憑自己的自由意志做許多事，促成許多正義； 28 因為他們都有能力，他們是自己的主宰。世人只要做好事，絕不會失去他們的酬賞。 29 但是沒有命令就不做任何事、用懷疑的心接受誡命，又懶於遵守誡命的人，必被定罪。(教義和聖約 54:26-29) 26 For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward. 27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness; 28 For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward. 29 But he that doeth not anything until he is commanded, and receiveth a commandment with doubtful heart, and keepeth it with slothfulness, the same is damned.
