27 August 2014 Press Statement by MCA Federal Territory Publicity Bureau Chairman Lau Chin Kok The people must re-evaluate “chameleon” PAS The people should re-evaluate PAS now that the whole episode of the Selangor Menteri Besar saga has exposed their true colour as none other than political opportunists. DAP should also stop window-dressing for PAS, who had betrayed them many times already. However, this is unlikely as DAP is putting its self-interest above that of the rakyat’s, and it is highly probable they will continue keeping silent. DAP had even asked the non-Muslim voters to support PAS so that Pakatan could be propelled to take over Putrajaya. And what we get now is a chameleon-styled PAS, playing out both DAP and the rakyat. Yet, perhaps there is one thing DAP can possibly learn from PAS; that their one and only consist goal is to establish an Islamic state. If eventually the state legislative assembly has to be dissolved due to the many U-turns engineered by PAS, then DAP should be the first to come out to apologise to the people. In their decision to play with fire, DAP has betrayed the people’s trust in them and put us taxpayers at an unnecessary risk of having to spend a whopping RM50 million should a by-election be held in Selangor. This is not the first time that PAS has betrayed DAP, as DAP has been constantly humiliated over and over again whenever PAS insists on implementing hudud law in Kelantan, and insisting that Pakatan had never agreed to abandon hudud law implementation.
