27 January 1976: David McGilton, 22-year-old Protestant civilian, single. William Peter Armstrong, 22-year-old Protestant civilian, single. Both men were killed when a number of armed gunmen began firing at random in the Farmers Inn in Dunmurry. Both men were friends and were regulars at the bar. Four other customers were injured in the attack. Mr McGilton was from Magheralave Park in Lisburn. After a church service at the Railway Street Presbyterian Church, he was buried at Lisburn New Cemetery. Mr McGiltons father was the chief officer of the Northern Ireland Schools Examination Council and a clerk of Session in the church. Mr McGiltons parents said that people from all over the world had sent messages of sympathy. Mr Armstrong was from Finaghy Road South. His father was a quarry owner. LEST WE FORGET!
