2705 Stocker Ave. Youngstown, Ohio. 2 Beagles Left To Suffer. With the heart of winter upon us, we think of chilly days and nights by the fire. Bundling up in a warm bed with the thermostat just eased down enough to make us feel like we’re actually going to save something on our heat bill. We go about our days usually wrapped up in our warm winter garb or in the car with the heater blowing full bore. Until you spend 30 minutes or more outside with the wind chill somewhere around -12 you don’t really appreciate how cold cold can be. In the last couple of years we have become aware of a pair of beagles whose lives are not filled with warmth, they never get to go out and play, they live next to each other but are separated by chicken wire, living 24/7 in a wood box above the ground with no insulation that measures a mere 2’ x 5’, in reality these dogs are slowly being tortured so that the owner can take them out of the cage but once a year for a week to go rabbit hunting. I’ve seen cruelty to animals before but this takes the cake. Having remodeled the home across the street, I observed on numerous occasions the dogs literally balling, not howling, but balling. Their entire lives spent in a wooden box 2’ off the ground with never so much as someone even talking to them. Their entire lives in a 2’ x 5’ prison, never being let out for any reason other than hunting once a year or if they are fortunate enough to die. They only exist to please this man for one week of the year. Somewhere in this man’s life, he was never talk to be human, and indeed must have been raised by parents with the same disregard for life. We are trying to raise awareness for these unfortunate dogs as the authorities say there is nothing that can be done. We have talked to the owner and he remains steadfast in that the dogs are his to do with as he pleases. He lives at 2507 Stocker Ave. Youngstown, Ohio. We even offered to buy them from him to no avail. He told us that he has had dogs for 50 years, we can only imagine the sadness of their poor lives, death being a relief. If people were put in these same circumstances it would be considered torture, cruel and unusual punishment. Why would our society allow such cruelty to be carried out in such plain site as this. 2 Beagles Left To Suffer.
