28 April 2014: WHALE SHARK STILL AROUND ON PROTEA BANKS PROTEA BANKS - NORTHERNS Current: Strong Viz: 20m + (top to bottom but a bit milky near the surface) Sea Temp: 24 degrees Celsius Sightings: So if you were just on the boat today and not in the water you would have had an incredible sighting. A WHALE SHARK came right up to the boat to say Hi to Jaco ... he said it was the same size as the boat and he almost s**t in his boardshorts ... hehe. Also saw 2 Hammerhead sharks from the boat. The dive however was a completely different story. We could only boast a Round Ribbontail Ray and a Potato Bass. But with nice current and good viz it was just great to chill in the water. Also saw a Musselcracker, lots of Trigger fish, big shoal of Fusiliers and lots of other reef fish. Also a Remora hung out with us. Lots of jellies as well. Worth being in the water today.
