28 Assistant Inspector-Generals redeployed The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, on Tuesday ordered the redeployment of 28 Assistant Inspectors-General to various Departments, Zonal Commands and Formations across the country. This is contained in a statement issued by the force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Tuesday in Abuja. Abba said that the redeployment which was with immediate effect, followed recent promotion of some senior officers and vacancies occasioned by retirements. The I-G urged the officers to bring their experience to bear on their new postings. He also charged them to partner with the public to ensure improved safety and security of lives and property in all parts of the country. Below is the breakdown of some of the redeployment: AIG Zone 1 Kano, Tambari Mouhammed, Zone 2 Lagos, Joseph Mbu, Zone 3 Yola, Mohammed Abubakar, Zone 4 Makurdi, Adenrele Shinaba, Zone 5 Benin, Musa Daura and Zone 6 Calabar, Johnson Ogunsakin. Others are: Zone 7 Abuja, Patrick Dokumor, Zone 8 Lokoja, Christopher Dega, Zone 9 Umuahia, Usman Gwarry, Zone 10 Sokoto, Bala Hassan, Zone 11 Osogbo, Ikemefuna Okoye and Zone 12 Bauchi, Mohammed Gana. With the movement, AIG Adisa Bolanta now becomes the Commandant, Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, Sabo Ibrahim, AIG, Border Patrol and Wilfred Obute, AIG Armament, Force Headquarters. Helen Adeyemi is now AIG, Maritime Force Headquarters, Lawal Tanko, AIG, Police Mobile Force Headquarters and Yahaya Ardo, AIG Counter Terrorism Unit, Force Headquarters. Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission on Tuesday approved the promotion of one Assistant Inspector-General of Police with immediate effect. This is contained in a statement issued by Ahmed Mohammed, on behalf of the Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission. The statement named the affected officer as Fehintola Abuwa.
