28 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING: Day 9 Today I am sooooo thankful for music! Music is as much apart of me as my constant heartbeat in my chest! Music is Gods gift to EVERY man, women, boy, and girl! It soothes the aching heart, and calms the anxious mind. Music excites the crowd to shout, and stills a restless baby. It is melodic gold and silver, and more precious than things. Think about it; what would movies be like without music? What would Christmas at the Mall be like without music? If you attend church, then you know that worship with music is most awesome when a congregation just hammers words of praise on the anvil of truth in tones of stunning adoration for God! In fact, the largest book of the Bible is the book of Psalms...a music book!! My favorite genre of music is Jazz, or as I like to call it, music for grown-ups! Jazz has all the colors and shades of a beautiful master piece painting! It can at once be thrilling and the next moment be chillin. If you are a musician then you know that if you can play or sing Jazz then you can play or sing ANYTHING!!! However, sometimes I still like to bubble windows out with amp blowing rock n roll! It is a release for me that is kin to hitting a fighters punching bag. In the words of Bob Segers famous tune, Still like that old time rock and roll. The kinda music just soothes the soul. I reminisce about the days of old. With that old time rock and roll. Today I am most thankful for the gift of music! Psalms 150:3-6 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
