28 years ago today the weather was exactly (!) as it is today. I was going to marry Richard Volk that evening in a little church that was neither Catholic (his) or Presbyterian(mine) with our 4 kids and parents attending. I came home from work about 4:30 (wedding at 6:30) only to find that Trevor Keller had shaved the sides of his hair for that evening. Everyone else was normal. Richard did not show up here at the house until 5:30... I shoved this clothes at him, he changed and off we went to pick up Courtney Volk Leslie, who we had not clued in so that she would not accidentally spill the beans to her mother. We married with our parents as our best man and matron of honor. My mother, Treva Stephenson said that she prayed for someone to love me and to be a friend to my boys. Her prayers were answered. The wedding dinner was at the restaurant at 7th and Rangeline (gone now). The restaurant had electricity, but no gas that night so our dinner was chilly and eaten with all of us wearing our coats. We blended two families that night. We have watched as our children have grown and produced their own families. I went back to college and graduated with honors. Our parents died leaving us way toooooo soon. Richard resigned from a company he had been with for 30+ years and we started over in business in 2000. We have traveled abroad and here in the states. We have fought and argued and made up each time because we love each other. So... I am ready for the next 28+ years to be as good and fully expect it. Our one and only question about that evening 28 years ago is this: Trevor, what in the heck possessed you to shave your head that night? :)
