280813 PARTNER IN VICTORY 1 Samuel 16:13-16 1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: In the Old Testament time, whenever there is a battle to be fought, the Spirit of the Lord comes over God’s chosen vessel. You cannot do warfare successfully without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord empowers men and women for victory; the Spirit of Lord delivers the strategy for victory. You cannot have any major victory, without the ministry of the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord is a Warfare Strategist. He knows the strategy that wins every battle. He instructs and causes men to prevail over the battles of life. When the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul he lost the ability for victory. David, upon whom the Spirit of the Lord has just come, was divinely arranged to take up the battle against Goliath. He won the victory not by the power of a sling, but by the power of the Spirit of the living God. Victory always goes to the man that is in partnership with the Spirit of the Lord, and submits to His leadership. Wherever you have experienced defeat, may the Spirit of the living Lord grant you victory, in the name of Jesus Christ. May He enable your hands with strength to break the neck of your enemy in the name of Jesus Christ. APPLICATION: Always seek for the Holy Spirit’s assistance; He is your Helper.
