29 Sep 2014 Update DAS9 - Dharamshala, DAG6 -- Tirthan, SVP8 - Sitlakhet, DAK9 - Shimla, DAPF6 - Junga, BTJ - Yercaud Please scroll down for all the updates. DAS9 - Dharamshala There was heavy rainfall yesterday at the campus. It cleared up after dinner around 8:30 – 9pm & has remained clear since. The kids are being well taken care of.The three groups from class 9 will be going for a dayout trip today. They have left this morning and will be back by 5pm.The two 11th class groups have gone for a stream walk and will be back in the afternoon to do tera tera. DAG6 -- Tirthan Kids enjoyed their activities thoroughly yesterday. Two groups hiked to the waterfalls and then did the waterslide. A lot of children got over their fear of water. Two groups learnt outdoor survival skills - pitching tents, packing their rucksacks and others aspects of outdoor safety. Both these groups went for the night out & returned chirpy and cheerful to the campus in the morning. Others did river crossing , braving the current and the cold water . Weather has been fabulous - clear & sunny throughout except for a few minutes of cloudy skies in the evening. Kids that stayed at the campus indulged in camp fun at night - Dumb Charades & dancing. SVP8 - Sitlakhet It rained last night, well after the kids had been tucked into their tents. The sun is out today and the kids got to see all the mountain peaks visible from camp this morning! The kids are all well. Today the three groups are busy swapping between activities terra terra, rock climbing and rappling. All the groups will be learning camping skills today – fire making, cooking lunch and pitching their own tents. They will be using these skills tomorrow as they leave for their day out at 8:30am, only to return back to the campus at 4pm. All the kids are getting time to do bracelet making after dinner which they look forward to taking back as a memento from camp. DAK9 - Shimla Yesterday afternoon saw an hour long shower. Kids were indoors & had fun with team games, camp fun and masti. Today the weather is clear and bright, with the sun shining. All the kids are doing well. Both the groups are out since the morning for a day out. They’ll be going for a long hike, stream walk, bridge slithering and river crossing. They’ve been given some yummy packed lunch which they’ll eat in between and be back at camp by 5:30 – 6pm. DAPF6 - Junga There were rains last evening, which stopped at about 6pm. Yesterday night the girls played a series of games during camp fun. Today all the groups are on a day out. They will trek down, do a stream walk, cook lunch and return to camp by tea time in the evening. The sun is out and all girls are doing fine. BTJ - Yercaud The weather has been cool and overcast but no showers. All the kids are doing well.Yesterday the groups went for the night out where they cooked, pitched their own tents, collected dry twigs for the night camp fire and had fun telling stories around the fire at night. Both groups came back safe today morning. Today one group has gone rock climbing, while the other is rappelling. Both the groups will then go for a stream walk. There will be talent night tonight for which all the kids are excited. Warmly Team Youreka
