2Timothy 3:1 warns us that, in the last days perilous times will come. People will be lovers of self and will be given over to all sorts of hell-bent ways. Some will even be pretenders of Christianity while they remain practicing their wickedness...having a form of godliness but denying its power... (2 Timothy 3:5). There will be men of corrupt minds (v. 8), and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and BEING DECEIVED (v. 13). Although all men are given an opportunity to come into the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ and the straight and narrow way has been made known, some have rebelliously chosen to remain bound by their flesh, chained in sin. When the true Light came, they chose the darkness because they did not want to leave their sins behind. Since they have chosen their sin over righteousness and truth, their minds will be given over to the darkness. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie (2 Thess. 2:11). A deceived man wrapped in the prison of his own deception may not realize the darkness of his soul. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting (Romans 1:28). Since people can be given over to a reprobate mind and their conscience can become seared, we are told to warn one another. Love rebukes when needed and doesnt overlook the sin. Hopefully, with a rebuke, reasoning with the Word, and also encouraging by the Word, some may be saved from the flames of hell. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear (1Tim. 5:20). I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you (1Cor. 4:14). ...warn those who are unruly... (1 Thess. 5:14). Ezekiel 3:18
