2nd Moharram (27 Oct 2014) is also the martyrdom day of second caliph Hazrat Umar the longest serving caliph who expanded Islamic world beyond Hejaz to Egypt Palestine Iran and many other countries .His was true democratic govt introduced first time in the history .He introduced Shoora system,took all important decision among masses in Masjid Nabvi .One day when he stood up for Friday sermon one Baddu ( Tribal) stood up and asked Umar first reply to my question and then sermon Umar asked the question He asked we got same length of cloth from Baitul Maal you are taller than me then how is your Kurta longer than mine Umar replied since my Kurta was not wearable and the cloth I got was not sufficient for my Kurta my son gave me his piece of cloth and thus my Kurta was stitched after this reply the Baddu allowed 2nd caliph to deliver the friday sermon .Hazrat Umar introduced regular army to to Islamic empire earlier it was a troop of volunteers He started numbering horses and production of sword for army He also introduced BaitulMaal earlier what ever was income was spent and when money needed it was contributed by believers Umar as caliph regularised the exchequer(Baitul Maal).Inspite of leading the biggest ever Islamic empire he pased his days in poverty and took only as much as was needed for a days expens.When he went to take over Palestine only one camel was arranged for his journey with his servant it was decided between master and servant that each of them will rise one Manzil on camels back and the other will travel on foot when the last step or Manzilcameit was the turn of servant to ride on cames back and Umar to walkon foot the servant tried to persue Umar to ride the camel but he refused when he thus reached before the Christian head of Palestine he overlooked Umar and extended hand towards the servant but when servant told him the story he immediately handed over the keys to Umar with out any further discussion on terms and conditions of annexing Palestine to Muslim world.(Contd)
