2nd Mufaddal Cup T20 19th December, 2014 Kabd Grounds BB vs Banswara Royals (BR) BB began their endeavor for Mufaddal T20 cup with a bang. Having won the toss and opting to bat first, team BB lost their opener after yet another decent opening partnership. Aliasgar Merji was run-out as he slipped and couldn’t get back into his crease on 29 (20). BB immediately lost its second wicket of Aliasgar Khanji. Taher Khansaheb walked in next and had to play an important role and steady the innings together with Burhan Musaji. And rightly so, the duo kept their heads up and put up an over 100 runs partnership keeping a solid run rate of over 8.5 runs throughout. In an attempt to set loose towards the end of the innings, Burhan Musaji fell short of the deep fine leg boundary and was caught out. He scored 75 runs of 47 balls, hitting 1 SIX and 6 FOURS. Hakim Typist came in and played a quick little cameo, scoring 17 runs off just 8 balls with 1 SIX and 2 FOURS and took the score graph higher. Taher Typist remained unbeaten on 4 (1) along with Taher Shabbir Khansaheb who played a solid inning and reached his well calculated half century 50 (41) that included 4 FOURS and responsibly took his team’s score to a 195 high. Murtaza Lukmani, Hakim Hatim Kalinjra and Hatim Indorwala took a wicket each for Banswara Royals. Chasing 196 runs would never have been easy for BR, especially when Hakim Sultan (Badri/Niti) fires in and continues his knack of taking early wickets. He dismissed BR opener Hussain Ghee in the first over on a duck and then another wicket of Fakhruddin Khokha 18 (9), who was looking good, in his 2nd over. This early wicket taking ability of Hakim Badri (Niti) provides a strong grip into the game for team BB. His inclusion into the side has given a great depth to the bowling attack of team BB. Murtaza Gada Wala then got into the grove and took 2 wickets in his second over, getting rid of BR captain Hakim Kalinjra 13 (6) as Taher Khansaheb caught a single handed stunner at covers jumping and stretching as high as one possibly could. Murtaza also dismissed Jafar Ratlami 0(1) on his first ball. Banswara Royals had maintained a good run-rate but were losing wickets regularly, pushing the game away from themselves. Burhan Gaba was very impressive conceding only 12 runs off his 3 overs and bagging a wicket. Aliasgar Khanji bowled an unusual maiden in this format of the game and showed how good he can be with the ball as well. Taher Khansaheb wiped off the tail of BR picking 2 wickets which also included the wicket of Aliasgar Hotelwala who was set in since some time and could not at all read the googly which spun a long way back, crashing into the stumps. But the star of the bowling attack was once again the ever young Hakim Panyari who sacking 3 wickets giving away only 16 runs in 3 overs which included a very well judged high catch by Hakim Typist. Banswara Royals were bowled out for 117 runs, allowing BB to claim a big win of 78 runs. Burhan Musaji 75(47) was adjudged the Man of Match which he shared with Taher Khansaheb for his unbeaten knock of 50 (41) and 2 wickets.
