2nd day of holidays and we are now resting in Raleigh North Carolina before heading to onto Myrtle Beach tomorrow. Spent first night in Gettysburg Pennsylvania and toured the battlefields today and must admit was at times emotional starting to grasp the fact that many thousands of men lost their lives where you were standing and in the fields directly in front of you. Found myself wondering more than a couple of times what would have happened if the Confederacy had won the battle at Gettysburg and the war, how potentially a different world we might live in today. After that about 5.5 hour drive to Raleigh with of course one more stop for shopping at the outlet mall in Gettysburg. So relaxing night and then short 3.5 hour drive to Myrtle Beach after stopping at Costco for groceries and then as a favour to Marianne are going to Wilmington NC so she can see where some show she liked was filmed, sorry no idea what it is called.
