2nd part Types of Communications 1. INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION - it occurs within us - it involves understanding and sharing meaning with ourselves - the message consists of our thoughts. The channel is our brain that processes what we are thinking of. The feedback is present in the sense that when we talk to ourselves we get rid of particular ideas and supersede then with others 2. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION - happens mostly between two people though it may include more than two - tjis type of communication occurs for the ff reasons: A. To solve a problem B. To share information C. To fulfill social means 3. SMALL GROUP COMMUNICATION - involves 3 or more people, this can be seen in social communication such as civic groups, church, assemblies and so on - formed to solve a problem or arrive at a certain decision 4. public communication - takes place when a sender-receiver sends a message to an audience - it is commonly called as PUBLIC SPEAKING - it is recognized by its formality, structure and planning Ex: listening to a lecture, seminar, convocation, sermon, concert, and the like.... - most of the time it aims to inform or persuade, but it also aims to entertain, announce, welcome or pay tribute to someone 5. MEDIATED COMMUNICATION - accdng to PAVLIK it is the process by which a message or communication is transmitted via some form of technological media Ex: emailing, blogging, teleconferencing, voice mailing, and using of mobile or cellphones
