2pm, 8th December 2011; I worked my last shift as an employee before becoming full time self employed! I cant believe how far By Charlies Hand has come in those 3 years since. Im at nearly 16,000 likes, have made a few hundred papercuts, branched out into various products with my work on, developed as an artist and a person, been exhibited and stocked around the country and have work across the globe. 2011 will always be one of the hardest years of my life, I lost a lot that year with the passing of both my grandmothers, but I gained the seed of a business that continues to flourish and a long held dream becoming reality. Its been a roller coaster, quitting my job was scary and exciting but worth it for what I have now, its hard work but I wouldnt change this for the world. I couldnt waste 3 years of a degree and all the education leading up to that on a job that wasnt really going anywhere and didnt make me happy. So one P45, registry with HMRC and a few deep breaths later BCH became my job not really knowing if it would work, if I could support and sustain my life from it but excited for the possibilities for what it could be become given half a chance and boy, oh, boy has it become something special! So have to thank you, for liking what I do, commissioning papercuts, buying my products, liking my page and giving me incredible support and helping a dream a 14 year old girl had come true! Heres to another year of self employment and many more to come I hope youll join me for the next year of By Charlies Hand adventures! xxx
