3,000 VIEWS & COUNTING !!!! THE LAST BROWN BERET Feature film adaption, based on the very successful play, The Last Angry Brown Hat, by Alfredo Ramos. Produced by Rose Cano & Jose Luis Valenzuela at Plaza de la Raza in Lincoln Heights, directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela. Screenplay by Del Zamora. Starring Daniel E. Mora, Randy Vasquez, Vance Valencia, LInda Lopez, Ingrid Oliu, Del Zamora, Karen E. Wright, and David Castro. Produced by Del Zamora. Co-producer Jenna Urban. Associate Producer Karen E. Wright. Director of Photography Hilda Mercado. Editor Emmanuel Salgado. Director Del Zamora. Now this is an example of a real Chicano movie, starring real Chicanos, written & directed by real Chicanos. From a play, by a real Chicano. Shot by a real Mexican. All done with real Latinos. Why is this concept so hard, for Hollywood to pull off? Seems easy to me. Stop excluding us, in favor of foreigners, from New Zealand, Spain, Italy, England, Portugal, Brazil, even Mexico. There is more than enough home grown, bilingual talent, right here in the USA. No need to hire dialect coaches, or Spanish language coaches, or cultural teachers. We are right here, under your noses. Stop importing talent, that has no business, playing us. They do not know our history, our culture, our heritage, our accents, our families, our challenges and struggles, etc. We are the best actors for these jobs. Yet, Hollywood seems to think, we are a subculture. A culture good enough, to tell stories through; but not sophisticated enough, to act, write, direct, or produce those very same stories. What a crock of you know what. Remember, the NFL, has to have a rule in their bylaws, to make sure that minority coaches, are interviewed for the head coaching positions. Why? Because left to their own devices, they will not see any minorities, for these coveted positions. Look at the success of some of these minority coaches. They have done well, yet would not have those jobs, if it were not for the rule, that made the NFL, take a look at them. Do you not see, how exclusive, our country is? The same happens to us. There is no rule, that makes them see us, so they do not see us, for the lead roles. We are USA citizens. We fought for this country, our families fought and spilled blood. We have paid taxes for centuries, to our country. When, oh when, do we get to participate in our own country? When?
