3.25.14 But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]. Romans 8:25 Patience breeds hope. Hope (should) produce patience. Hope which is seen is not hope, for how can you hope for what you already see or have? (vs 24) Once you have what you have hoped for, you no longer hope for it. But if you are in the process of hoping for something and know it is something that God has said will happen, then our part is to keep hugging on to the hope (that is in us from Him) while patiently waiting for it to come. Hope is having a strong desire for something along with a corresponding expectation of receiving it. There is a beauty in someone who has hope, when the pains of life come, when the trials arise, when the disappointments pile in, when sickness sics, when jobs end, and relationships fail; the persons whose hope is in God rises up from the ashes of those hardships with a strength and beauty because they know the plans that The Lord has for them arent going to be harmful, but successful, and the hope He hoped for us was given in the Person of Jesus Who is our Hope. Conversely, there is an ugliness in someone who has no hope. When those things in life come, they become more bitter, more cynical, and begin to lose hope because they figure nothing good will ever happen to them. They feel sorry for themselves and want others to feel the same way. They are miserable. But its because they have no hope. When we realize Heaven is our final destination (for those who hope is in the Lord), the stuff of this world does grow strangely dim. Yeah, its still hard to live on this planet, with imperfect people, with sin and its affect, with unmet expectations. But while we are waiting for our final destination, our hope should be producing more and more patience as we endure. What is it that has been left unfulfilled in your life? What are you hoping for? What does Gods word have to say about that? Find out, and trust that because God has said it, it will come true. Dont sabotage the plans God has for you, by having a strong desire for something without having a confidence expectation of receiving it. In doing that you will become impatient and give up on the desire, sometimes prematurely, sometimes when it was only a few days or months away from being fulfilled. Sometimes our hopelessness breeds contempt and we unknowingly drive away the very thing or person God will use to deliver our desire. While you are waiting, trust that God has good plans for you, trust that our hope placed in Him will NEVER fail, trust that He has our best interest in His heart, trust that He has not forgotten you. Patiently waiting for Heaven or a godly spouse, or a prodigal to come home, or a new job, or a child to be born which is not yet conceived doesnt mean you worry and fret about it, it means you have placed your hope in One who will and is able to fulfill your desires and you patiently, peacefully and confidently wait for His perfect timing. Our sincere hope in Jesus will never disappoint. Even when and especially in those times it feels like we will never have what we have desired. 84/365
