3 Hurt in Large Fight at the Riviera Gentlemen’s Club Worcester, MA (January 1, 2015) - On January 1, 2015 at approximately 1:06 A.M., several Worcester Police officers responded to a call of a large fight at the Riviera Gentlemen’s Club located at 241 Southbridge Street. Upon the officers arrival they met with security staff for the club. Staff members stated that there was a fight involving 15 to 20 people but that it had ended and the crowd had dispersed. At approximately 1:12 A.M., police received a call from St. Vincent’s Hospital stating that a male had just been struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Riviera Gentlemen’s Club and had arrived in the emergency room for treatment. Police arrived at the hospital and met with the 43-year-old victim. Police were informed by the victim’s friend that the victim was struck by a blue Nissan in the parking lot of the Riviera Gentlemen’s Club. The victim was struck as a large fight was taking place in the parking lot. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in the lot just prior to hitting the male. After the collision the vehicle fled without stopping. The male is in stable condition with cuts and abrasions to the hands, knees and head. The WPD Crash Reconstruction Unit was contacted and will be conducting a follow up investigation. While at St. Vincent’s Hospital police received calls from U-Mass Memorial Hospital and U-Mass Medical Center (university campus) that each emergency room received a male victim from the large altercation. Police met with a 19-year-old victim at U-Mass Memorial Hospital. The male stated that he was hit over the head with a bottle as he stood near the front door. This male was suffering from a swollen eye, a contusion on the head and abrasions on the face, elbows and knees. The male provided very little information to the officers. This male is known to police to be a member of a local gang. He is in good condition. Police met with the third victim at U-Mass Medical Center. The victim is 21-years-old and received stab wounds to the back. The victim stated that he was involved in a fight inside the club when he was sprayed in the face with mace by a security guard. The victim was eventually escorted out of the club and into a vehicle. The victim discovered that he was stabbed when he was being driven away. The driver of the vehicle drove straight to the hospital. This victim could not provide any suspect information. The victim stated that he didn’t realize that he had been stabbed until after the fight. This male is also known to police to be a member of a local gang. The victim is in stable to good condition and will be released today after overnight observation.
