3 November 1976: Georgina Strain, 50-year-old Protestant civilian, married with 2 children was from Hogarth Street, Tiger Bay. Two men entered her home and shot her. An RUC spokesman said that Mrs Strain was shot and killed in a darkened living room and was wearing trousers. The spokesman said that she may have been mistaken for a man. Her foster son opened the door. He said that 1 of the men shouted bastards and then drove off. Mrs Strain had been unwell for a few years and weighed just over 6 stone after undergoing a number of serious operations. Charges for Mrs Strains murder wee brought against 3 men but the charges were later dropped. After Mrs Strains killing, Carol McMenemy, a Catholic girl, was shot and killed. LEST WE FORGET!
