3 hours with “Green Climate Fund” feature – Moment that has Changed My Whole Life and Goals November 2010: I was reading an article written with my mother language in a daily from my country Bangladesh, written by a journalist, who did come back from the UN Climate Change Conference held at Cancun, Mexico. So far I can remember, he did mention a statistic – as per the report from UN and various organizations working on climate change, near about 2.1 billion people are affected for climate change. And world’s top developed/richest 30 countries are now a committee and they are agreeing to pay USD 30 billion for the years 2010 – 2012, to the developing and less developed countries to work on recovery and adoption with climate change, under a name “Green Climate Fund”. And this amount will be increased to USD 100 billion for every year by 2020. Wow! And within a few second another statistic was appearing in my brain that – disabled peoples’ in this world is near about 1 billion. A big question did arise in my mind– if world’s top developed/richest 30 countries can fund USD 100 billion every year from 2020 to certain countries, how much are world’s all countries spending for/on work with disability? Because, in my sense, it is another big and one of the top humanitarian issues of the word. I look out over the internet and many reports how much money is spend for disabled peoples’ in this world. It is so less comparing 100 billion. And you know, disability is a very old (maybe from the born of earth) issue comparing to climate change. I did decide by next few minutes that I must create a fund for disabled people like Green Climate Fund, where every country will participate by contributing 0.1% or 0.2% of their national budget, but all the money will go back to needy countries with world’s top developed/richest countries’ money. And I fixed a name – “World disABILITY Fund/WDF”. And all the matters had happened within 3 hours. That was in Nov. 2010. So that, those 3 hours was my very creative and special moment, those have changed the mission/goal of my life next. Right now I am 28 years old, a wheelchair user Bangladesh disabled young (affected by polio at age of 18 months), was working at a rehabilitation centre for disabled people in the capital city Dhaka from July 2002 to Dec. 2013. Now I don’t have any job for a good and specific reason. When I decided to work to build a fund for all counties’ disabled people, I did think it will so difficult to focus my agenda in developed world. Because I am very simple, a citizen one of a poor countries of the world. But you know a dream can come to anybody’s mind and that force take necessary actions to make the dream success/practical. My mind was pushing me always, even every second and was telling me, please do work to find out a way by which you can focus your thought/idea the WDF to the world, specially in the UN. Finally, I decided that I will travel from Bangladesh to have a world tour by land and water only, with my own wheelchair and I will be alone. This idea can be a strong and reasonable way to focus my idea. After big big works, get all visas, managing many small small sponsors I did start my journey on 25th June 2011 and first country was India. Then I have been to Nepal, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, England and finally USA. It took 8 months for visiting all these countries. Then I made contact with UN people and 13 January 2012 I had a talk with UN Enable People on my travel and main objective of the travel – WDF. In my sense, all these travels, my talks with UN people, many features and news to me, on my travel and on it’s mission published in various newspapers/journals in many countries, in a word, all the matters were just my starting task to make my dream WDF success. After talking with/at UN, I did back to my country with very practical experiences, practicality, knowledge, more ideas related to my idea and many more at Feb. 2012. I did understand I need an own organization by which I can work more closely on my idea more.. Finally, I left the job last year 26th December. I established an organization titled United Actions, and it is registered with Govt. of Bangladesh on 10th July 2014. ***
