3-month Communications Internship at The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment (September - December 2014) Are you interested in a career in communications? Do you have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an interest in digital communications? Why not join The Bartlett Faculty Communications Team for a three-month internship from September to December 2014! What do we do at The Bartlett Communications Office? • Develop, manage and implement a strategic communications plan to promote and differentiate The Bartletts brand and image. • Maintain and develop The Bartlett Faculty website and support the Bartlett satellite sites. • Manage various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels. • Write and design print and digital publications, managing The Bartlett’s corporate identity, coordinating internal communications, and much more... Your role In an average week you might coordinate a blog on a topical theme, source and write content for a Faculty publication, use social media to promote activity at The Bartlett, upload images to our Flickr channel, edit our internal newsletter, or write news items for the Faculty website. What we are looking for Some who: • has excellent written English, with an eagle eye for detail • is keen to learn new skills • is interested in a range of subjects, including the built environment • would be comfortable liaising with people at different levels of seniority • has a mature and enthusiastic approach to work, and is happy to work in an open-plan office. • must be available to work four days a week September to December in our central London office near Euston, and happy to undertake some evening work (mainly to cover events) and routine tasks. During your internship you can gain: • an excellent grounding in a variety of communications skills relevant to a number of careers in the journalistic, creative and public relations industries • the opportunity to experience and contribute to the running of communications within a large, complex organisation • the opportunity to learn and write about a wide range of stimulating subjects • a manager to supervise you and provide guidance throughout your internship • a supportive and friendly environment • payment of £10 an hour, payable monthly in arrears.
