3 years ago, November 2011, I got a call from Pauline at the Elk Country Shelter asking me if I could rescue 2 blind kittens found on the side of the road. She had no place to keep them and they were absolutely terrified. So Drew and I went to see if we could help them. Found them huddled in the back of a cat carrier trembling in fear. We set them up in a spare bedroom temporarily while I tried to figure out what to do with them. Surely they could not be put at the SOS and I had absolutely NO experience with blind cats....one day turned into 2, then weeks and the next thing I knew, with my hubbys cat loving heart, he was soon bringing them out of their room to explore and expand their senses. Little did I know, they would never leave our home, and surely had no idea what incredibly adaptable creatures they are and have become. Happy 3rd Rescue-versary Stevie and Rae. The fact that you have no eyeballs, doesnt stop you from hiding around corners to harass my big baby cat Girlie, or being first in line to eat, to hogging the bed, to snuggling with the dogs. Although your presence in our home has became ordinary, your ease and joy of life never ceases to amaze me.
