3 years ago today I was told by a wonderful Lead Surgeon for more than a decade who had seen and performed countless procedures at the James Cancer Center that my PETscan showed over 20 lymph nodes affected by the Colorectal Tumor in my body. He said What are you doing at 7 am this Monday? Because- you can be scheduled for your surgery at that time... You are done having children, I will more than likely take your uterus and ovaries and other potential organs as the number of lymphnodes indicates quite extensive spreading. I spent my 33rd birthday, 5 days after the surgery in the hospital with ALL MY ORGANS INTACT - I was just filleted and stitched up and a little bit physically sore. Emotionally I was reeling. I received letters from all over the USA from 4 people, 3 persons that I DID NOT KNOW sharing with me about their cancer journeys or their family members journey and how it strengthened them having help through God and reading his word, not listening to statistics, and persevering by meditating, gardening, cooking, walking and focusing on their families... They allowed a new Peace and Strength before unknown... specifically because they let go of the world. Each year following I have quite a couple of weeks leading up to my birthday... replaying and always amazed and excited and overwhelmed to have another notch on my belt. I live my life saying Unto you oh Lord... I do give my life. Today I got the good news and I have a great summer planned to spend getting as many hugs and kisses from my little ones and my awesome, supportive husband Buddy as possible! I also cannot wait to spread my Joy with Consciously Giving support, smiles, laughter and more to all I come in contact with. It is as if I get a little kick in my butt on how to remain truly grateful every day when I wake and my Birth Day Month Really reaffirms this.
