30 Day Film Challenge: Day #23 (Mystery/Thriller Film): Mother Bong Joon-Ho has yet to make a bad film in my opinion and remains to me one of the most important filmmakers in all of cinema. In Mother, he fully illustrates his full talents as a storyteller with the exploration of the extremities of maternal love. The film is so intricately constructed and is filled with nuances and seething with surprises at every possible turn. Furthermore he smartly lets the incredible Kim Hye-Ja carry the film on her more than capable shoulders who delivers my favorite film performance of 2009. Come for the originality. Come for the thrills. Come for the greatness that is Kim Hye-Ja. Thats all..
