30 Day Movie Challenge Day 6: Favorite Made for TV movie... Again, this is a clear-cut winner for me. Ive posted more than a few clips from this one, so some of you may have seen some of it already. For those of you that know me at all, you know that my favorite subject of history to study is Napoleon Bonaparte, so the fact that the miniseries about his life makes this list should come as no shock or surprise. The two scenes in this that have always really grabbed me are his Coronation at the Notre Dame Cathedral and when he convinces an entire regiment sent to capture him (commanded by Marshal Michel Ney, one of his right-hand men previously) to instead convert to his side when he escapes exile in 1815 (the scene is remarkably true to what actually happened). Again, the music is spectacular, the scenery is first-rate, the story is compelling (even if it leaves a LOT of the bad side of the Emperor out), and it stars Christian Clavier (Napoleon...he is amazing in the role), John Malkovich, and Isabella Rossellini...whats not to like?
