30 Days of NOT Thankful - Day 16 A Jar Lid too Tight Remember that time, when the burgers came off the grill, and the table was set, everything in place, and someone handed over a new jar of pickles, and said, Could you open these please? The lid is on too tight. And, try though you might, even to the point of tapping on the lid with the back side of a kitchen knife, cutting your hand in the process, then running hot water over the lid, to the point, you scalded your hand, and still no success... all the while the burgers are getting cold, and everyone in the room is watching you, either laughing, or offering their suggestions as to how to break the seal? It took me years of frustration, before the solution finally came to me. All I ever really had to do was grasp the lid firmly, and simply twist the jar. It works every time.
