30 Days of Thanks-Living, 2013 Each day this month I will be posting something for which Im very thankful. I encourage each of you to pause and reflect on those things in your life for which you are thankful for. 5. Constitution for The United States of America - We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. We have been going through a Book Study of The Harbingers in our Sunday Night Home Group. It is a very revealing book with the many parallels of Israel and the USA, and of 9/11 and prophecy. Very eye opening, told in a story form, kind of like a parable. Get the book. It is an easy read and one you will have difficulty putting down until you finish it. Then, re-read it. Get the companion study guide and discuss it with another friend who has read it. You will be blessed and eyes opened. Thomas Jefferson said that liberty and ignorance cannot coexist. I think that we have the model of one of the best forms of government, yet over the years, we have given up too many rights to the federal government, not the people; I believe in the sovereignty of the states rights; I believe in Freedom OF Religion, not Freedom FROM Religion; that we need less government, that government has grown too big and too intrusive in our daily lives; I believe that many of the Articles and Amendments are being abused; and more Christians stepping up and being Christ to the world around us. We have failed to be the church in many situations and expect the government to create a costly program to address needs. We have indebted ourselves into near-bankruptcy and expect bigger government and career politicians to solve our problems. We need to return to the values and beliefs that made our nation and founding fathers strong and not trample the Constitution. I urge each of you to just re-read the text of the Constitution. See how this living document written many years ago can continue to direct our nation, and how we interpret and apply it. And today, we get to have a practical application and exercise our right to voice our opinion through the ballot box on our Texas Constitutional Amendments. I hope you voted today, or early. In the words of the Duval County/LBJ Campaign Chairman, Vote Early, Vote Often - Dead or Alive!!! May God Bless America, and May God Bless Texas.
