30 July 1998. At 7:07 AM my beautiful and talented daughter Bailey Shea Burke entered the world of Pam and Steve Burke. She joined a family that had a big brother Zachary, and a small army of animals that were like siblings to her. We almost delivered you on the side of Highway 80, but we made it to the hospital by the narrowest of margins. The doctor arrived 20 minutes after you were born, and your mother told him to get lost, we didn’t need him anymore. Myself, and two nurses named Rose delivered you. You hate this, but I was indeed the first one to wipe your backside, and it was like moving hot tar asphalt. While we were in one hospital, your brother was in another with food poisoning. You were always a very happy little girl who loved horses and lady bugs. You make me proud every day. In the way you demonstrate a firm sense of right and wrong, by showing a good work ethic, by making efforts in school without your parents having to push you. I love the fact that you love reading and music as much as I do. Most of all, I love you for being the person you have grown into. A person I am proud to call my daughter. I love you.
