30 PYTHONS FOUND ON TOP OF A ZAKA GRAVE IN ZIMBABWE ZAKA is an area traditionally perceived by superstitious Zimbabweans to be a place that leads in practicing witchcraft, leading to people commonly saying ZAKA is an acronym for ZIMBABWE AFRICAN KILLERS ASSOCIATION Right or wrong as this may be, Mhofu villagers under Chief Ndanga found 30 pythons on a Mudakwa family grave last Sunday morning. The python hatchlings that were found on a grave were successfully rescued and taken away to a safe place by Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. Villagers have been urged quickly report all sightings of stray wild animals to protect human or animal injuries. As a matter of interests, a female python can lay as many as 100 eggs. An average clutch of python eggs can be about t 35 eggs. The female python , unlike most snakes, coils around the clutch and stays with the eggs until they eventually hatch. The female python will not feed during this period, which may stretch up to two or more months. Sibusiso Ngwenya
