30 years ago today, I was a young teen swimming off the beach at South Padre Island when I accidentally stuck my foot in a sharks mouth. Thanks to my brother Jeff Jordan who stopped the bleeding, to the young couple in a jeep who whisked me away to the doctor, to Dorothy Cailteux Jordan for holding my hand for two excruciating hours while I was stitched up, and to the doctor whose handiwork left me with minimal scarring. Now THAT was a summer trip!
