30 years down the line… I can’t believe it is 30 years since the publication of the first issue of SA Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SARA), the forerunner of RACA. My involvement with the industry actually goes even further back. I was the founding publisher of HAR (Heating Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) the first ever South African magazine to cover the industry, which later disappeared following company takeovers which led to the birth of SARA. So RACA is continuing a very strong bloodline which actually started in the late 1960s. I have no doubt that the magazine will continue to go from strength to strength in future. Looking back over the years, I always found that the industry is highly professional, characterised by some of the greatest characters I had the privilege to work with.
