300 IS ENOUGH? Thats how many wolverines are estimated to be left in the continental U.S. But even that paltry number seems to be too many for the Fish & Wildlife director that oversees the Northern Rockies region where wolverines live. Despite recommendations by her own scientists to list wolverines as protected under the Endangered Species Act, the director has caved into pressure from state officials in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho and ordered her staff to reverse course. The elusive wolverine is greatly dependent on snow pack for raising their young - something that will be greatly impacted by climate change.
