300 cops to secure Panaad BY GILBERT BAYORAN The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office is deploying 300 policemen and women to secure the weeklong “Panaad sa Negros 2014” festivities on March 31 to April 6 in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City. Supt. Alexander Munoz, NOPPO Police Community Relations Office chief, said yesterday that the 300 police officers will be divided into 14 teams, to man the layers of security rings of the Panaad stadium. A security conference was held yesterday at the NOPPO conference room in Bacolod City, that was attended by representatives of the Bacolod City Police Office, Philippine Coast Guard K-9 unit, Panaad security group, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire and Protection, Amity volunteers, and Traffic Discipline officers. Munoz also said 62 policemen from city and municipal police stations will also beef up the present Panaad security force. He added that a nine-man Army team of the Philippine Army will also be deployed to conduct patrols, while the BFP and Amity will be positioned in strategic areas, to immediately respond to any untoward incident. Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, acting provincial police director of Negros Occidental, has been designated as task force commander.*GPB
