3030 Challenge Day 10 Romans Chapter 10 Pauls deep desire - TopicsExpress

3030 Challenge Day 10 Romans Chapter 10 Pauls deep desire and prayer in this chapter is that Israel may be justified and saved from His wrath. Israel had a zeal for God; outwardly, they were very religious. But their effort was not according to knowledge. They lacked a correct understanding of the kind of worship God wanted from them. Israel did not obey Gods command to believe. The point Paul is making is this; Israel was ignorant of Gods righteousness because they failed to comprehend what the law was intended to do. The law revealed sin and showed that people could not hope to keep the law. Christ came and fulfilled the law, then offered us His righteousness through faith in Him. Paul emphasizes the universal offer of salvation in verses 11-13. Whoever means ALL and this includes Jew and Greek. Paul uses the words of Deut. 30:11-14 to demonstrate that righteousness by faith is not far off and inaccessible, but is as near as a persons mouth and heart. All one has to do is repent, believe in Jesus, and confess that belief. There are many who say the Old Testament is dead - this is not so. The Law of Moses is important because it was the first part of Gods plan of salvation. And the New Testament gives us the second part of Gods plan of salvation. We are gifted with grace and truth through Jesus Christ. His death on the cross made it possible for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and for us so that we can have a more closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:4, KJV) This is exciting reading my friends! Jesus came to give us grace and truth and to have a closer personal relationship with Jesus! God, not man, plays the most active role in salvation. When someone chooses to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, he or she does so only in response to the urging of Gods Holy Spirit. God does the urging; then we decide or not to believe. Thus no one can believe in Jesus without Gods help. People do not come to Christ strictly on their own initiative; the Father draws them. A true believer...or someone who is truly seeking ....someone who is truly willing to listen and change will be drawn by God into understanding His plan. To everyone else, salvation is foolishness, a waste of time....but to those who seek earnestly, God reveals Himself. The notion l have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior carries little weight if the Father is not recognized and given Worship. This is what Paul is trying to get across to the nation of Israel in Romans Chapter 10. God knocks, God calls, God longs to gather. We open (Rev 3:20), we choose to go (Matthew 22:14), we are willing or not to be gathered (Matthew 23:37). But, God is the One who draws. Yes indeed! Without His calling, we would be hopeless to come. MANY are called who do not go to heaven. MANY are called, few are chosen. Not all who God calls, will come because of unbelief... because of an unwillingness to do so. God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud. If you refuse to come when you are called, you will not be chosen, just as His Word teaches. I pray when God calls upon you that you heed His call. Its the most important thing you can do in your entire life. Be encouraged and God bless. Pastor Beverly
