30th October 2014 CHRISTS COMMAND Mark 16:14-19 Beloved Greetings, Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (KJV) DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT Evangelism among many other issues was emphasized by Christ Jesus, in His last discourse with His disciples; before His final ascension. It is written And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. The command to preach the gospel is not reserved for pastors or for a department in the church. It is an assignment, both for the entire church and individual Christians. We must keep preaching the gospel until every creature has the opportunity to hear the good news. The early Church did not joke with this command. They went everywhere preaching the good news of the Kingdom. They were committed to reaching out to the lost with everything they have. And the Lord was with them wherever they go working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Our disposition to this command today is disheartening. It appears as if the closer the coming of Christ the colder the churchs passion for soul winning. Today in our churches we have evangelism department that we commissioned with the task of winning souls. Jesus Christ did not commission any department. He commanded the church and all Christians to go and preach the gospel to every creature. What have you done with this command? How many have you introduced the gospel to this year? God delights in seeing souls saved. Create an occasion for rejoicing in the presence of God in heaven reach out to a soul this week. Winning souls is a way of life for the wise. Cultivate the habit of reaching out and winning souls for Christ. APPLICATION Tell somebody about Christ today. PRAYER FOCUS Father, use me to save a soul today in Jesus name.
