31 July, 2014 A split from the district has been averted, and I couldnt be more thrilled. Last night, the city council voted to authorize me to sign an inter-local agreement with Jordan School District. In so doing, the council will not be placing this item on the ballot. This accomplishment comes after much work by our legislators, Richard Cunningham, Sen Harper, Sen Osmond, as well as the work of our city attourney, Rob Wall. Mark Seethaller, Chris Rogers, and other council members have also been very helpful in this process. And of course, I need to mention Chuck Newton, our council member who was the biggest proponent of splitting the district, and yet, his tenacity got us to the the table with the district and made the inter-local agreement possible. The city will be publishing the documents, the feasibility study, along with the ILA sometime this week.
