31 killed, several injured in twin Nigeria attacks By MOHAMMED MOMOH A young boy pushes a wheelbarrow past the wreckage of a burnt vehicle and burning shops following a blast at Terminus market in the central city of Jos on May 20, 2014. At least 30 people have been killed and several others injured in a twin suicide bomb attack in Jos, capital of Plateau state in North-Central Nigeria. The explosions targeted a market near the citys Terminus bus station. This is the same place that suffered a twin car bomb attack in May that left at least 118 people dead. The bodies recovered so far are 31 but rescue workers are at the scene and the figures may change, added Pam Ayuba, spokesman for the Plateau state governor Jonah Jang. Elsewhere in the northern city of Kano, a 13-year-old girl suicide bomber attempted to hit but was intercepted before she could strike. Mohammed Abdulsalam, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Jos, on Thursday said that the explosion hit a densely populated area. He confirmed that there were several casualties. The Jos attack was suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram sect members.
