31st Servo Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament—8th day RCF, Kapurthala entered Women Final & IndianOil first to enter semi finals. Jalandhar, November 5 : Star Studded Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala reserved their berth in Finals of the 31st IndianOIl Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament, in women section in the day in the 8th day of the in progress here at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar. In the Men sections, IndainOil Mumbai defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and entered semi finals of the tournament by earning 6 points from their two outings. Report of Match Between Army-XI, Delhi and Bharat Petroleum, Mumbai is in proress and follows……… Tomorrows In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up IndianOil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank, Bangalure by 4-1. The bankmen took the lead in the 5th minute of the game when they earned their first penalty corner. Their penalty corner expert D,Matthusalvan did not made any mistake to sound the board (1-0), After trailing by one goal, oilmen started their moves from right flank and got the ealualise in the 11 minute when Olympian Prabhjot Singh scrored a nice field goal (1-0). At half time both teams were playing 1-1 draw. After lemon break, oilmen started the game with planned manner and increased the lead in the 47 minute when Olympian Deepak Thakur scored field goal (2-1). In the 57 and 62 minute, Deepak Thakur and Prabhjot Singh again scored the goal to complete tally (4-1) In todays’ women section matches of the round robin league, former champion Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala girls defeated Rest of Pakistan by 7-0. The Rail Coach factory with 9 points topped the points tally whereas the other team will be decided from the match between Rest of Pakistan & Haryana-XI. Presently, Punjab-Xi has 4 points from their three matches whereas Haryana-XI has one point from their two matches. Haryana girls will only qualify for Finals if they beat Rest of Pakistan by margin of 4 goals.Vatrika Singh, ( In the match between RCF Kapurthala and Rest of Pakistan, Amadeep Kaur scored 4 goals, Vatrika Singh, Ramngaihzv Ali, Th.Anuradha Devi secored one goal each for rail coach factory. In the match between Punjab-XI and Haryana-XI , both teams exhibited good hockey. Both teams shared one point each with 1-1 at their stipulated time. Punjab-XI was leading by 1-0 at half time. Punjab girls took the lead in the 32nd minute of the game when right full back Ritu made no mistake to convert their first penalty corner (1-0). Prls increased their lead through Meenakshi who sounded the board with a solo effort in 56th Minute. (1-0).
