32 years and 8 months ago Kellie walked into my office at work and told me we were going to have a baby. I didnt want to know if our child was going to be a girl or boy, I wanted to be surprised. I was just excited that we were about to be parent and start our family. I remember when You were born Chase and the Dr saying its a boy how excited I was. Seeing today’s FB reminder that Chase Thayer was having his 32nd birthday” really hit me. Wow son, 32 years and now youre a dad with a family. Im very proud of you son and your life today. I cant begin to tell you what great memories I have with you as you were growing up. The flash backs of coaching and playing baseball with you in the yard and then watching you as a senior in pitch a no hitter in high school. The Father and sons outings and camping in the mountains. Lake Powell trips and your first time water skiing to the time I was videotaping you skiing behind the boat and my hat blowing off and you catching it in mid-air. Going to dinner just before Priesthood Sessions at conference time and your getting your Eagle Scout award. Our trip to Atlanta to see the 2000 Super Bowl game and having sushi for your first time. Your first game pitching in College and trying out for the San Diego Padres. Watching you make choices most that were good and some not so good. Your choices then became the ingredients of who you are today. I could say a few more fun things but that would take all day and some of them might not be cool to mention :) but in the end you are my son and oldest child. Your sisters and brothers love and look up to you. Youre the example in their lives and we all love you and want to wish you a Happy Birthday. Love ya pops.
