#333 6th Sem Mech Who is responsible and what is the solution for jobless engineers? When this question is asked to engineers they blame lecturers, HOD and college management. When we turn this question to lecturers, HOD and college management they blame students(that they haven’t attended the classes) and the training institutions (that they haven’t taught them well in their final sem project). When the same question is asked to training institutions they blame students, lecturers, HOD, college management and they add one more object i.e., IT market and says IT market is down these days due to blaa–blaa in USA. But at end of the day it is the engineer who has to suffer . In my view each and every object of the the system is responsible i.e., lecturers, HOD, college management, university, training institutions, IT market to an extend of 10%. Whereas engineers themselves are 90% responsible for not getting a job. Because during their engineering days they are very much worried about wearing branded clothes or buying new T-Shirts and jeans whereas no worries if they miss classes, don’t want to compromise in their look and feels whereas no problem in compromising with the subject, they don’t want to miss any party and outing whereas its ok if they miss labs, they don’t want to miss the taste of food of each and every restaurant and never thought of tasting the programming, they don’t want to disturb their sleep even if their career gets disturbed, ready to spend hours on facebook and whatsup (these days) reading useless messages but don’t want to spend few minutes in reading any technical article, they don’t want to skip any new movie released, but ready to skip the expectations of their parents. Now, you may say that “But, sir there are no lecturers in our college who can teach good, there is nobody in the lab who can guide us, classes do not run at all. So how can we get the subject?” We would have accepted this excuse if it would have been a Non-IT era. These days you need not to depend on your lectures when you have the world open to you via INTERNET So, first of all an engineer should be worried about their future and should select a guide or a mentor for their career in engineering first year itself and should surrender themselves to guide or mentor throughout their life. Should move with suggestion of guide or mentor in each and every step of their life and you should not become askhole(A person who constantly asks for advice, yet always does the opposite of what told to them). It is never too late to choose a guide or a mentor. Now the new question that should come into your mind is, who should be our guide or a mentor? and how should we choose our guide or a mentor? Basically you should look for these three qualities in him whenever you are choosing a guide or a mentor. 1. First of all he should belongs to your technical area and should be technically sound. (Like you cannot select a doctor as your guide or a mentor) 2. Secondly, He must be a well wisher of you. (Really tough to search these days) 3. Finally, He should be honest and trustworthy. (He should think about your both the worlds) So, what are you waiting for? Start searching a guide or a mentor and surrender yourself.
