337 days gone, 28 days left Wed. Dec. 3rd, AD 2014 #WordFromCurtis is THE VOICE OF THE LORD - 2 Hebrews 3v15 - Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them]. Continuing from where we ended yesterday... YHVH spoke to the Israelites through the commandment He gave to Moses and they also heard His voice like thunder in the midst of the smoke at Sinai. Ex.19. Its still same today, its not ceased. God speaks to us, TODAY, through His cannonized word, the Bible. When we read it or listen to a message preached from it the Holy Spirit informs our hearts based on the word. Job 33v23 - [Gods voice may be heard] if there is for the hearer a messenger or an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him [how to be upright and in right standing with God] * But, what abt those who dont read the Bible or believe in Jesus? Does God reject them ENTIRELY? - No! God speaks to both the sinner & the saint. He has given us a gift to help us: our CONSCIENCES. Yet His voice also comes through, whats left is how we respond to it. CONSCIENCE works upon precepts: what you know to be right or wrong, laid down rules taught to you throughout your life, the accepted lifestyles of your people, etc. So when youre about to sway youd be prompted inwardly, ah this is bad. Thats conscience working. A very potent conscience enables a person hear God better while approaching Him boldly. GODS VOICE comes through every now and then, not just from the word. Its not like thunder though. Youd often hear a voice in your head like your own voice mentioning your name and adding an instruction, Nana, dont do this. Stop that! Get this. Etc. The Holy Spirit who abides with speaks to us. People would say, something told me to stop. I did and that happened. Others say, it dawned on me. Well, that voice isnt smths voice but someones voice. Its Gods voice. Do you hear it? 1. Conscience enables us to respond well to Gods voice because self-conviction which brings remorse is from conscience. When we lose our conscience it becomes increasingly difficult to respond to Gods voice. Thats what happened to the Pharaoh of Moses prime. 2. A person may lose His conscience abt a particular wrongful deed when he continuously commits those particular wrongs. He becomes insensitive, remorseless, cruel, etc. 3. No one ever loses touch with Gods voice completely. The voice of the Lord always comes through no matter how far we drift. Remember He spoke to Nebuchadnezzer, yes, He spoke to Pharaohs stubborn heart too, but they were too proud to respond because they had lost their conscience & hardened their hearts. May you never lose your conscience in the name of Jesus Christ. Lets conclude tomorrow. #TonicForRighteousLiving °Curtis Judd Nana Ahenkan° Alleluia! Forever Inc.
