35 years ago today ... 7/8/79 - I did my 1st day at NatWest, Nottingham Trinity Square Branch ... (its long since gone in the regeneration of the city centre) ... 2 years ago tomorrow - 8/8/12 - I was on the beautiful isle of Jersey, when I received a few phone calls confirming that voluntary early retirement was back on the cards ... It still makes me smile every day ... and I remember calling my good friend and colleague Dave Howard to give him the news (same length of service exactly and same job as me) - dont think he had ever received a better phone call ...
