36% of the dogs weve tested for Lyme disease are POSITIVE. Now, very FEW of these are sick so what does this mean? First, it means that we do have the ticks carrying this disease in our area. Second, it means we need to do a better job of controlling those ticks, since all those dogs had to had ticks to get infected. Third, most of these dogs do NOT need to be treated for it if they are not having internal problems. Finally, it means you should CONSIDER vaccinating your pet if he is higher risk against this disease since we dont know which ones will get sick.... theres no way to know who will get sick or not.
