365 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA Day 233, June 30, 2013 If PRAYER can change me, PRAYER can change AMERICA!! THE SOWER SOWS THE WORD Part 2 JESUS is teaching the people and HIS disciples by parables. In Mark 4:13-20, it is recorded: “And HE said unto them, Know you not this parable? How then will you know ALL parables? (Mark 4:13-20). In yesterday’s devotional Part 1, we discussed the Seed being blown to the wayside. Hard-hearted hearers of the Word are the most difficult people to reach with the Gospel. Difficult, not impossible for the HOLY SPIRIT to convict them of their sins, so we must keep praying and sowing the Word of GOD. Today, consider those who are stony ground soil. “And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the Word, immediately receive it with gladness; and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the Word’s sake, immediately they are offended” (Mark 4:16,17). The stony ground souls are those who immediately and gladly receive the Word of GOD; but they have no root in themselves and don’t last long. Affliction and persecution offends them! They have no depth in their heart. They have only had a surface relationship with the Word! They must plow deep to expose the hard stones that lie beneath the surface soil. Allow the HOLY SPIRIT to deal deeply with you. The HOLY SPIRIT talks to us about our relationship as a child of GOD. HE knows what it takes for us to be an over-comer and victorious over afflictions and persecutions because of the Word of GOD! “DEEP calls unto deep!” “HIS SPIRIT bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of GOD” (Romans 8:16). The HOLY SPIRIT goes deep into our spirit and deals with our soul, the seat of emotions, thoughts, and senses! HE checks our heart for soundness, rhythm, pressure and affections! HE checks our eyes and doctors them with eye-salve so we can really see what we need: for without a vision, People perish. HE checks our sense of touch (feelings). HE checks our sense of smell (prayer, the fragrance of heaven). HE checks our hearing (to hear what HE is saying in a still small voice). HE checks our taste (our appetites). “They that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). Are you dealing with an inconsistent walk with the LORD? You have started, become offended, quit and started again. This is the time for you to allow the HOLY SPIRIT to guide you into ALL Truth! Let HIM bring up the stones of hindrance, confess them, receive forgiveness and grow a fruitful crop of GOD’S blessings in your life. PRAYER: FATHER, please help us to be steadfast in prayer, in Bible study and meditation, in the refreshing communion of the HOLY SPIRIT, in gathering with the family of GOD (the Church), in tithing and sharing our testimony with other who are searching for a new way of life. Give us a great harvest of souls for our labor, In JESUS Name!! Amen!!
