365 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA Day 250, July 17, 2013 If PRAYER is changing me, PRAYER can change AMERICA!! SUCCESS AND YOUR SOUL Most people are so concerned with their pursuit of success that they neglect the condition of their soul!! JESUS addressed this problem directly: “Then said JESUS unto HIS disciples, If any man will come after ME, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow ME. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for MY sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the SON of man shall come in the glory of HIS FATHER with HIS angels; and then HE shall reward every man according to his works” (Matthew 16:24-27). There is a constant struggle to find success in the culture of this world. It is evident that we are in a “do whatever it takes” mindset climbing the ladder to the top! JESUS puts things into perspective by saying, “What is the use of gaining the whole world but losing your soul in the process!” If it’s true success that you desire, the TRUTH of Success is found in JESUS CHRIST! If you are going to be HIS disciple then Read these instructions: 1. Deny yourself. Self-denial is a difficult thing to do. The obverse is generally true in this self-indulgent society. Grab, borrow to the limit, spend, gamble, party to the max, and sell your soul to Satan for things that will never satisfy. 2. Take up your cross! The takes self-crucifixion to a new level. Here is the standard teaching of the Apostle Paul: “GOD forbid that I should glory, except in the Cross of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world” (Galatians 6:14). Our cross becomes the place where the worldly lifestyle dies in me, and I die to the desires of my fleshly body. 3. Follow JESUS! Follow JESUS closely! Follow JESUS in HIS footsteps! Follow JESUS every day! Follow where HE Leads! Follow JESUS all the way home! 4. This success plan demands your full and total commitment! Don’t hold anything back!! Leave it all behind. Sell out to JESUS! 5. Then be prepared to receive an abundant return on your investment, “whosoever will lose his life for MY sake shall find it.” 6. When JESUS returns soon you will be rewarded for what you have done!! Right now, pray your own prayer of commitment to deny yourself, take up your cross and follow JESUS!! Amen!!!
