365 Days... Been a little quieter today ( lots of laundry) and a chance to reflect on the last several days. This last week and a half weve had guests who have seen their first green heron, and gotten up early to try to get pics, one who has jumped up from the table to check out the Pileated woodpecker on the back maple tree through the bird scope, the kayaks and paddleboat have gone cruising, return guests from last summer, but my favorite was this... I had just delivered breakfast to the table, Amish Baked Oatmeal, when a guest looked straight into my eyes and said, this is a Bethany. I immediately started the food Rolodex in my little brain and tried to think of what she might be comparing it to. She was able to recognize I had no idea what she meant (because I have such a poker face). She explained that when Jesus was stressed or needed time away he would go to Lazarus in Bethany, and this was her Bethany. That was probably the best compliment ever. I love that people come and find the peace and calm they might be looking for. Worth all the work!
