39-year-old Mathew Goggin failed to make the cut for the weekend rounds of last week’s Web Tour Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Goggin carded 69 and 73 which included six birdies, six bogeys and one double bogey for his two-over-par total of 142. Chesson Hadley from North Carolina fired a one-under 69 Sunday and won the season-ending championship over four others including indigenous Australian Scott Gardner. Hadley, a rookie out of Georgia Tech, posted a ten-under 270 total at the TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley course and collected his second win of the year. Goggin finished sixty seventh on the Web Tour Finals Money List, down a further fifteen places, with earnings of $14,825.00 from four events. With the conclusion of the Web Tour season at the Web Tour Championship, 50 PGA Tour cards and priority positions for 2013-14 have been determined. All 50 card earners are eligible to begin their 2013-14 PGA Tour seasons in two weeks at the Frys Open in California. For Goggin and the remaining professionals who fell just a little short of earning a PGA Tour card, it will be a matter of considering their options for the 2013-14 season.
