39 years ago tonight we were wrapping up Easter and I looked like a beached whale. My baby was 6 weeks overdue and I felt like horrible. I was admitted to the hospital and on March 31, 1975, I gave birth to Shane William Watkins. All 10 lbs and 3 and ahalf ounces of him. He was a beautiful baby with big red curls and he defied all odds of problems. I think half the country was in the waiting room and his big brother Shawn was not quite ready to share his mommy with the question, Mommy, how long do we have to keep him? It took a few weeks but he soon fell in love with this potential playmate. He had some health problems but he was our miracle. My brother asked that he be named after him , William, so he was. My brother and his Gpa Watkins. He has been a joy to all and Mamas trophy. Daddy is pretty proud of him also.
